Tips for Shooting Your Video

1. Share your story.

We want to hear about what your life is like today and more about the city you live in. Share with us details from your life now – where you live, what your living space or home is like, and what matters to you – so we can understand more about where you see things going.

2. Share your ideas about how living spaces (or life in general) might change for future urban dwellers.

Now that we’ve heard about your current day-to-day, we want to know how you think technology might change your life or living space down the road. 
We are not interested in descriptions of a particular product, but rather in how it made your life better. We are searching for your stories, not product ads. When creating your story think about what makes your solution work, specifically think about:

• How do you imagine people will live together in the future? What role will technology play?
• Will we physically meet our neighbors or know them at all?
• Will increased surveillance technologies erode or bolster trust?
• Will our home be self-surveilled and smarter than us?
• If cities continue to grow and become denser, how will that impact trust among inhabitants?
• If we are just one among many, what will that mean for confidence?
• What will urban communities of the future look like?

Be original! Be more interesting than telling another story about your Apple Watch or FitBit. Think about what other people could not think of.

3. Go ahead: record videos in your native language.

Videos can be recorded in any language, however we ask for owners of non-English language submissions to provide a brief English-language description or transcript of their video.

4. Do not use any copyrighted materials.

Be careful not to use any protected or copyrighted materials you don’t have the rights to, including music, video, animation, and/or brand names. Looking for free music to use in your video? Check out these options:

5.  Be creative and have fun!

We are looking to laugh, learn and be inspired. Show us your personality and what makes you and your innovation unique. You don’t need fancy or professional equipment to submit a video (although if you want to make a Hollywood-style production, that’s fine too!)

Allianz Explore With Us Video Challenge - Rules

Below are the rules for participating in the Allianz #ExploreWithUs “The future of living” story challenge:

1) Submit

The program period begins on October 15th  2018 at 00:01 CET and ends on November 18th 2018 at 23:59 CET.

To participate in the program the applicant should:

- post a video of original content on participants’ public Instagram or  Facebook channel with #Explorewithus hashtag and tag Allianz Instagram/Facebook account @Allianz respectively;

 Or

- upload the video via explore.allianz.com website.

2) Get selected

Allianz will choose the winners based on the below selection criteria. We will select  videos to run in our pay for performance reward (Grand Prize) based on:

• Strength of your perspective
• How relevant your story is to the challenge
• How well you tell your story

Criteria

• You must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible
• Maximum length 55 seconds (check on minimum length for ad spend)
• Should include only material that you have rights to (no copyrighted and protected music, sounds, imagery, or video)
• If your submission is not in English, then please be ready to provide a translated transcript into English
• Please consider our creative tips

You will be disqualified if your submission is determined to include:

• Generally abusive content
• Dangerous or irresponsible behavior which may cause harm to self or others
• Harassment content
• Racial or discriminatory content
• Pornographic content
• Copyrighted content (that the user does not have rights to)
• Anything that goes against our FB page house rules

3) Rewards

If your idea is selected:

• It will include a 3 second Allianz branded intro and a 3 second Allianz branded outro.
• You must agree to all Rules, Terms & Conditions  
• We reserve the right to edit the content but not alter the substance of the piece.

Rewards:

Grand Prize (1 winner)

• Guaranteed amount of €2.000 and maximum amount of €5.000 for a participant who will be selected for the pay for performance competition.
• €2.000 will be invested in promotion of each video selected for the pay for performance competition;

Second Tier Prize (at least 1 winner)

• Guaranteed amount of €1.000 and maximum amount of €2.000 for each participant who will be selected for the pay for performance competition.
• €2.000 will be invested in promotion of each video selected or the pay for performance competition;.

Third Tier Prize (zero to multiple winners)

• Guaranteed amount of €500 for each participant
• At least €2.000 invested in promotion of each video selected. 
  *Apart from the promotion investment and guaranteed amount of €500, no further compensation will be paid by Allianz SE.

Views will be counted for a 7 day period after launch from Allianz channels (paid views and organic)

Evidence of fraudulent activity towards gaining views will disqualify the winner from the prize.

Views will be accumulated, counted, and rewarded as follows:

• The video will run on Allianz Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube channels with an initial €2k media budget to give it a kickstart
• Your account will be credited with producing of the piece
• All public views counted from posting on the winners channels will be counted towards the total view count

Allianz Explore With Us Video Challenge - Terms and Conditions

By posting a video with “#Explorewithus” hashtag and @allianz tag mention  on Instagram/Facebook it is indicated that the consent, permission to use tagged video and further agreement with these Terms and Conditions is given to Allianz SE. It is also confirmed that Terms and Conditions are fully read and understood.

1. Rules and regulations for participants:

1.1 Participation in the program is independent of any involvement to Allianz SE. By entering the program, participants will accept these Terms and Conditions.

1.2 The participation in the program is exclusively possible online via Instagram, Facebook (“Social Media Platforms”) or explore.allianz.com and under provision of one's true name.

1.3 The program period begins on October 15th  2018 at 00:01 CET and ends on November 18th 2018 at 23:59 CET. Allianz SE reserves the right to extend the program.

1.4 Participants have to be at least 18 years old to take part in the program.

1.5 To participate in the program the applicant should:

 - post a video of original content on participants’ public Instagram or  Facebook channel with #Explorewithus hashtag and tag Allianz Instagram/Facebook account @Allianz respectively;

 Or

- upload the video via explore.allianz.com website.

2. Requirements for submissions

2.1 Videos may not contain any elements which are subject to third party rights, in particular copyrights or personal rights, other than elements owned or licensed by the entrant.  Any elements (e.g. video footage, music, text, etc) that appear in the video, must be entirely original, created by the entrant, licensed or be in the public domain.

3. Grant of Rights

3.1 Selected videos will be shared on Allianz Instagram/Facebook page crediting to participant of a video.

3.2 You hereby grant Allianz SE., subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, licensees, agencies, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Licensees”) the non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, fully paid-up right, license and permission to display, post, publish, distribute, exhibit, reproduce, modify and/or otherwise use the videos and my name, likeness, handle, and text in connection with such video (collectively, the “Content”) on Allianz SE websites, microsites and social media properties, including but not limited to explore.allianz.com, and Allianz’ verified/official pages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, Google+, YouTube and/or Flickr (collectively, the “Websites”), for marketing, trade, advertising, promotional, public relations or any other purposes. I agree that I shall have no right of approval and no claim to compensation arising out of any use (in accordance with the terms hereof), blurring, alteration, editing, distortion, faulty reproduction, or use in any composite form of the Content. I irrevocably and voluntarily waive any and all “moral rights” I may have in the Content.

4. Representations and warranties/indemnification

4.1 By submitting a video, you state that (a) you are at least 18 Years old; (b) that you are the sole creator of the video and have the right to grant the rights under these terms and conditions, c) that the video does not violate any applicable laws or regulations; (d) that the video does not infringe the intellectual property or personal rights of any third party;(e) that the participant has not granted or transferred any rights in or to the concept to any third party prior to the date of submission; and (f)  the content of the video does not contain any content that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, insulting, bullying, slanderous, or libelous or otherwise depicts inappropriate behavior or physical injury or death to living beings; (g) ) you have a written release(s) from any owner(s) of music or other intellectual property contained in the videos, as well as a written model or privacy release(s) from any and all individuals appearing in the video; and (h) you are the authorized account holder of the social media platform where you have posted the video and where you have indicated your consent and permission and agreement to these Terms and Conditions as described above.

4.2 The participant agrees to indemnify and hold the Licensees harmless from and against any and all claims, actions or proceedings of any kind and further from any and all damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees) relating to or arising out of any breach or alleged breach of any of my warranties, representations or agreements hereunder.

5. Selection of potential winners

5.1 Representatives of Allianz SE will select one (1) participant of all qualified submissions (Grand Prize) for a chance to run in pay for performance competition and win one thousand euro (€1.000) for each one hundred thousand (100.000) aggregated views on Instagram and Facebook, but minimum two thousand euro (€2.000) and maximum five thousand euro (€5.000). Allianz SE will promote selected videos on Allianz’ Social Media pages and invest two thousand euro (€2.000) to promote the selected video.

5.2 Representatives of Allianz SE will select at least one (1) participant of all qualified submissions (Second Tier Prize) for a chance to run in pay for performance competition and  win two hundred euro (€200) for each one hundred thousand (100.000) aggregated views on Instagram and Facebook, but minimum one thousand euro (€1.000) and maximum two thousand euro (€2.000). Allianz SE will promote selected videos on Allianz’ Social Media pages and invest two thousand euro (€2.000) to promote each selected video.

5.3 A number shown under a posted video on a respective social media channel is considered to be a “view” amount and will be used to define a final prize in pay for performance competition.

5.4 Submissions that are not selected as the Grand Prize winner or Second Tier winners may still be featured as selected videos. In this event, Allianz will grant a prize of five hundred euro (€500) for each selected video, and will promote them on Allianz’ Social Media pages with a two thousand euro (€2.000) investment.

5.5 A winner will be notified before the 10th December 2018 23:59 CET.

5.6 All selected videos posted on Allianz social media pages will be Allianz branded (intro and outro frames). The participant will be credited either by mentioning of the participant’s name or by linking to his social media profile.

5.7 Aggregated views will be counted during a seven  (7) day period from a moment of posting a video on Allianz’ social media channels.

5.8 Evidence of fraudulent activity towards gaining views will disqualify the winner from the competition and the prize.

5.9 Participants selected for the pay for performance competition will be notified with a comment underneath their entry on the page or by private message. Within this comment/message the participants will be requested to reply within 48 hours (2 days) in order to acknowledge the selection. Unacknowledged selection will be re-drawn. Participants shall not be entitled to the payout or provision of a substitute prize. Should this acknowledgement, for no matter what reason, not be received, another participant will be appointed as substitute.

5.10 The decision with regard to the selected participants is final. Legal remedies are excluded. Should disputes arise in connection with the identity of a participant, a decision is made in favor of the holder of the e-mail address or the social media account that was used to register for the draw. Should the participants have transmitted incorrect information which makes further contact to said participants impossible, the latter forfeits all and any prize won. In such case, a substitute will be selected.

5.11 Allianz SE reserves the right to change, supplement or discontinue the competition should the impression arise that attempts are made to send several automated registrations or attempts be made to interfere with the competition in a disturbing manner by other means.

6. Prizes

6.1 The prizes of the program are:

Grand Prize (1 winner)

-  Guaranteed amount of €2.000 and maximum amount of €5.000 for each participant who will be selected for the pay for performance competition;

 - €2.000 invested in promotion of each video selected for the pay for performance competition;

Second Tier Prize (at least 1 winner)

• Guaranteed amount of €1.000 and maximum amount of €2.000 for each participant who will be selected for the pay for performance competition.
• €2.000 will be invested in promotion of each video selected or the pay for performance competition;

Third Tier Prize (from zero to multiple winners)

-  Guaranteed amount of €500 for each participant;

- At least €2.000 invested in promotion of each video selected.

Apart from the promotion investment and guaranteed amount of €500 no further compensation will be paid by Allianz SE.

6.2 The prize cannot be assigned to third parties and cannot be paid out in cash.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Payments made under this Terms and Conditions and subsequent Agreement (if any) will be payable within ninety (90) days upon Allianz SE’s receipt by of winner’s payment details (in particular bank account). Payments may be subject to withholding taxes, which will be deducted from the payment.

7.2 Any payments will be made in Euro and using the bank account information provided by winners, or as otherwise agreed by the parties. All payments due under these Terms and Conditions and any subsequent agreement are exclusive of taxes, duties, levies, tariffs and other governmental charges (including, without limitation, VAT) (collectively, “Taxes”). Winners will be responsible for payment of all Taxes and any related charges resulting from any payments made hereunder.

8. Sponsor and Liability

8.1 Sponsor of the program is Allianz SE, Königinstr. 28, 80802 Munich, Germany. To opt out of the competition or for any other queries via email please send to explore@allianz.com.

8.2 Allianz SE does not bear any liability whatsoever for lost, misdirected or late submissions, or for (i) electronic transmission errors, (ii) theft, destruction, changes of or unauthorised access to submissions, (iii) technical problems, and malfunctions or errors in the operation of any hardware or software or the scheduled course of the competition, including computer viruses and bugs, or for manipulations, unauthorized access, fraud, internet overload or overload of a website or arbitrary combinations thereof, or for other causes that are beyond the reasonable control of Allianz SE. Should any of the above circumstances occur, Allianz SE reserves the right to take one of, or several of the following measures: Disqualification of any participant who manipulates the submission or voting procedure, as well as a change, postponement or cancellation of the competition.

9. Severability Clause

9.1 Should a provision of these Terms and Conditions be considered invalid or unenforceable, the effectiveness or enforceability of the remaining Terms and Conditions are not affected and the invalid or unenforceable provision is replaced by such a valid provision as comes nearest to the basic intention of the invalid or unenforceable provision. The same applies in case of a gap.

9.2 The Terms and Conditions are subject to German law. The courts of Munich shall have exclusive jurisdictions for any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Terms and Conditions.

10. Note

10.1 This competition is not linked to the Social Media Platforms and is not sponsored, supported or organized by such Social Media Platforms in any way. The recipient of the information provided by you is not the operator of the Social Media Platform, but Allianz SE. However, Allianz SE cannot exclude that any information provided by you will be received by the respective Social Media Platform operators. The data privacy terms of the Social Media Platforms apply in this regard. Allianz SE will use any information provided by the participant solely for the purpose of the competition.
