In the year 1890, two explorers, Carl Thieme and Wilhelm von Finck, founded Allianz to insure their fellows against accidents in transport. Few cars were on the streets in those days, but new technologies were rapidly evolving, and they wanted to be there when this new kind of locomotion took off.
